Can you recycle cardboard boxes and packaging? Short answer: yes. Learn how to recycle your cardboard by watching this video!

How to Recycle Cardboard

Cardboard is super recyclable. It’s a good thing, because cardboard boxes are quickly multiplying on doorsteps around the world. So how can you help an old box become a new box?

Step One: Make sure it’s empty and free of any other protective packaging. Most of those protective materials (bubble wrap, foam, plastic air pillows) aren’t recyclable, but you can get creative with reusing them around your home or office.

Step Two: Flatten the cardboard box. It will take up less space in your bin and be easier to recycle. Inks, dyes, labels, tape, staples, and glue on cardboard are usually fine for recycling. If there isn’t too much, it will be separated during the process. If there is a lot, it’s best to remove it.

This is the cardboard box two-step: empty, flatten, repeat! That’s it!
